New BMW 7 Series Revealed

On April 20, the new BMW 7 Series made its world premiere in Beijing, presenting the innovative BMW i7 to the world for the first time. This will be the fifth fully electric car brought to China by the BMW Group and the flagship of the BMW's fully electric product line-up.

 

The launch was held offline and live-broadcasted online, serced by Beijing Kingway Communication, who were in charge of the 7 Series launch events for the seventh time. The new generation BMW 7 Series and i7 ultimate luxury is a revolutionary innovation and upgrade, which is the core of this launch event and this need to be presented, and what L-ISA can do is creat a full immersive, sensory environment.

 

This is not the first time that using L-Acoustics L-ISA for BMW release. Jin Shaogang, Sound Designer for the event, has programmed L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound technology combined with Blacktrax tracking solution in 2021 BMW Shanghai Auto Show.

 

The L-ISA integrated the Dolby 7.1 playback audio system. Technicians played back movie clips mixed in the 7.1 system and then ran them through L-ISA to reproduce the ultra-luxurious rear space of the new BMW 7 Series.

 

At the beginning of the design of the L-ISA system, there should be a LCR system, due to the limit of the space and considering the visual effect, the staff decided to simulate a virtual center system, ensuring the complete visual and design of the stage.

 

A total of six groups of Syva and Syva Low was used at the event, its beautiful and elegent shape was perfectlintegrated with the scene. Using KS28 with the Syva Low for LR channel to extand the low frequency, cleverly meet the frequency articulation between LR channel and subwoofer. In this way, the scene of the low frequency can be full of power tension. X8 enclosures were for front fills and stage monitoring.

 

 “Traditional panning is more flat, while L-ISA sound technology through the high-resolution frontal system and surround system can create a high level of immediacy, bringing the audience closer to the performer, and make them quickly into the emotion”, said Zhou Fenxin, Sound Engineer of RAC.

 

The mixing system used for this event is DiGiCo Quantum 7, its 3 independent modules of the screen and channel configuration, which can meet the needs of both PA and OB producing.

Since its release in 2016, the L-ISA system has been used in over 1,500 performances in China, touring and installation, such as The Voice of China 2019, 2021 BMW Auto Show, SMG Music Cloud Center, Urumqi Cultural Center, Circus City of Shanghai, Kwai Tsing Theatre, etc. These success applications mean that there are more artists are finding L-ISA incredibly helpful for their production; and more directors are realizing that L-ISA immersive sound reinforcement is helping audiences better immerse themselves in their projects.
