The Big Band, an original music variety show produced by MEWE Media returns for its second season this summer, features all-star production team, with famous sound engineer Shaogang Jin as chief sound designer. Jin has been designing the audio system for the second season since the first one ended last year, intending to provide better sensory experience for audience.

To achieve the ideal SPL in live environment (110dBA, 120dBC), K2, featuring two 12’’ speakers, was chosen as the main. With bigger size, K2 enclosure can operate lower frequency limit of 35Hz which presents great performance.

For the audience stood under the stage during the show, considering the LF distribution, KS28 subwoofers featuring two 18’’ speakers were used on site, in the way of combining the stacked and rigging installed. In the rigging part, there were 6 subwoofers divided into front line and back line, using end fire to reduce the impact on the stage, which could make the sound more cleaner, and to guide the sonic wave downwards in a high rigging positon, the front line was lower than the back line.

In the venue, 15’’ 115XT HiQ coaxial loudspeakers were as the fills to provide a more accurate pan for the audience so as to compensate for the high rigging of the main speakers, which could integrate the scene with sound and add more HF. As for the front fills, KARA came into play.
