Huahui Audio 2023-12-08
June 2023 - Hong Kong singer, actor and musician Jacky Cheung kicked off his 10th solo tour in June this year, his first concert after turning 60 years old.
The first stop started from Macao, China - Cotai Strip CotaiArena, a free of columns indoor event venue with a capacity of 15,000 people, which opened in August 2007 at the same time as The Venetian Macao. It is the largest single indoor event venue in Macau and one of the best-equipped integrated indoor multi-purpose exhibition and performance venues in Asia.
The stage was designed as a thrust stage, this allows for little cover around and a clearer view of the stage for the audience. Changing the previous way to hide the concern band, the team set up a four-story platform on the stage for a 53-piece orchestra.
The main and side fill used K2 line array, 15 of each hangs. K2 is part of L-Acoustics large system K Series, it has big size, great power and wide coverage. K2 produces high SPL and features PanflexTM to deliver consistent sound even at the corner in venue. Total 24 KS28 were used to expand the low frequency. There were 8 X15 HiQ using as stage monitor, creating a flexible and stable monitoring, and 12 Kara providing front fill, which are small enough to bring plenty of sound energy without blocking the audience's view.
DiGiCo integrated seamlessly with KLANG. The team chose four DiGiCo Quantum5 as PA console and monitoring console, two for each, using as hot standby. This concert used 55 sets of KLANG:Kontroller and 5 sets of KLANG:konductor to form a 3D immersive personal monitoring system for the 53-piece orchestra. This is the first application in Asia-Pacific using such a large KLANG system.
