2022 17th Shanghai Games Opening Ceremony

On the evening of November 18, the 17th Shanghai Games were grandly opened at the Oriental Sports Center. The Shanghai Games is the highest profile, largest scale and most eventful comprehensive games and youth sports event in Shanghai, started in 1953 and held every four years. This year's Games is held from November 2022 to January 2023, with two group categories of youth anduniversities, which is the most comprehensive one and the most number of applicants so far.

This year's opening ceremony invited many athletes to attend, including Olympic champions Le Jingyi, Wang Liqin, Xu Lijia, Xu Xin, Jiang Ranxin, and Cao Yanhua, Pan Xiaoting, Pang Jiaying, Zhang Xiaowen, Gao Lei, Ye Chong, Huang Xuechen, who won international events’ champions, by the municipal party committee secretary. The opening ceremony was addressed by the municipal party secretary, deputy municipal party secretary, mayor and other leaders.
