Opening Ceremony of the 5th China Yue Opera Arts Festival-Rightway Audio Consultants Ltd.

The 5th China Yue Opera Arts Festival with the theme of "Yueju's event, people's festival" opened in Shaoxing Grand Theatre on July 31. China Yue Opera Art Festival is a national art festival co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Zhejiang Provincial Government, which is permanently located in Zhejiang Province and held once every four years.

Yue Opera is one of the five major operas in China (the others: Beijing Opera, Huangmei Opera, Ping Opera, and Yu Opera), and is also known as the second national opera, the "most popular and largest local opera", included the first batch state-level non-material cultural heritage by Ministry of Culture. In its development, it has drawn on the strengths of Kun Opera, drama and Shao opera, and has undergone a historical evolution from a male to a female Yue opera.

The China Yue Opera Arts Festival was established in 2006, being a representative opera of Zhejiang, the first and the fourth Yue opera festival was held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and this is the third time Shaoxing hosts the festival.

The opening ceremony was directed by Ms. Yang Xiaoqing, a national-level director who pioneered the "poetic Yue opera" directing style. She has been directing hundreds of works for over 60 years and has won numerous awards. The opening ceremony of the 5th China Yueju Arts Festival is a comprehensive use of Yue opera stage art form to show the public the latest achievements of Yue opera’s art development.

The sound director of the opening ceremony was undertaken by Zhao Ke, the director of the Sound Professional Committee of Zhejiang Stage Art Society. After the performance, Zhao Ke firstly expressed his excitement with the result, "In the past, I was most worried about the safety and stability of the sound reinforcement system at each performance. This is my first time to use DiGiCo console, and I was really amazed! Before this opening ceremony, I am a fan of L-Acoustics, but haven’t used DiGiCo products before. Though I had heard a lot of reputation and praises about DiGiCo, using the SD12 mixer for the opening ceremony impressed me most and let me experience the fluency of DiGiCo’s workflow

Zhao Ke also mentioned that DiGiCo’s sound is not only particularly solid, but also has a good control of the ground noise and a large range of dynamic. What impressed him the most was its mic amplification, clean and clear.
