Beijing Olympics 2022 Opening Ceremony

The 2022 Winter Olympics and commonly known as Beijing 2022, was held between 4 and 20 February 2022 in Beijing, China. Having previously hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing became the first city to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

 

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic officially appointed He Biao as the chief sound designer, responsible for the system deployment and operation of the opening ceremony.

 

In the pre-design, safety must come first. Winter in Beijing is windy and snowy, that’s why the weather issue should be the primary consideration, such as, wind, sleet and cold, etc.

 

For security issues, the sound team worked with the hardware assurance team to popose a solution from both the physical and system.

 

The physical security is mainly show in the resistance to wind, rain, snow and cold weather, while the system security is mainly issue on the system sound reinforcement energy redundancy and system link transmission security.

 

During installation, He suggested that more speakers should be needed for the system. This is mainly based on two reasons: for a better dynamic range and higher SPL.

 

RAC participated in the sound system design, technical support and on-site security in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, and assisted He and his team to perfectly complete this stunning world opening ceremony.
