Memorial Ceremony for Xuanyuan Emperor Huang Di

Memorial Ceremony for Xuanyuan Emperor Huang Di, located in Mount Qiao, Huangling County, Shanxi, is an annual ritual held by descendants of Chinese nation at home and abroad on the Tomb-sweeping Day in memory of Xuan Yuan Huang Di, who regarded as the ancestor of the Chinese nation.

 

The ceremony was held on the April 4, 2021, includes the instrument performance, flowers present, funeral oration reading, music and dance, and formal visit to the ancestral tomb, etc.

 

As in previous years, the ceremony was undertaken by Shaanxi Performing Arts Group. Every detail of the event was strictly controlled and checked. Experts were invited to carry out the design as well as the supervision during the ceremony.

 

L-Acoustics system still supported for the ceremony this year, delivering exceptional level of performance and terrific security.

During the ceremony, representatives from all parties solemnly lined up in front of the Emperor Huang Di's monument, guided by an honor guard, walking slowly to the Xuan Yuan Miao, and taking their place in the designated area. The length of the path was a little long, total over 500 meters, which required a wide coverage of sound field, that’s why how to make a full but even coverage on the venue has become the key of the pre-design. What’s more, visual effect has to be taken into account also.

For the main system, 12 K2s were deployed in ritual Da Dian with 8 KS28s for low extension. 6 KARA plus 3 SB18 were equally distributed on the front fill, helping the low frequency extend to 32Hz and minimizing the impact on vision.

 

In addition, 8 K2s with 4 K1-SBs were ground stacked from Xuan Yuan Bridge to Xuan Yuan Hallway, and based on the actual condition, 6 sets of KARAs plus SB18s used were also stacked on the square and the stairs. With 12 X12s and 6 HiQs as the stage monitor, clear and natural conversation was delivered well.

In order to allow compatriots from all over the world to participate in the ceremony, Shaanxi Radio and Television Group specially broadcasted a live streaming of the ceremony for 5 hours. Due to its specifictity and significance, the console must be chosen with power, convenience, and most importantly, extreme security. Therefore, two SD12 consoles were used in the sacrificial hall area for mirror backup, and one SD9, one S31 consoles were equipped to master different areas.

This is a traditional event for the descendants of Yanhuang at home and abroad, which can benefit promoting the excellent Chinese traditional culture and carrying froward the great spirit of the Chinese nation.
