When XSO Meets Mount Hua

On July 4, 2020, the XSO Xi’an Symphony Orchestra and the XSO-C Xi’an Symphony Orchestra Chorus held an online concert in the Mount Hua and the audience can enjoy this extraordinary symphonic concert while feasting the beautiful scenery of Mount Hua.

 

Since the release of this event, it had stirred up a heated discussion among the netizens, wondering how they brought the tool and audio equipment up the mountain. Not only did they have to keep the musicians safe, but they also had to transport a large number of instruments, set up a stage in the mountain, place the lighting and set the equipment for live video streaming. To get all those preparation done, the whole orchestra and chorus have made great efforts to make the concert the best it could be.

 

Due to the environment in the mountain, the concert used X15 HiQ&X12 loudspeakers, both from L-Acoustics, and adopted in-ear monitor, as well as using 8XT and Kara loudspeakers as stage monitor, to solve the problem of lack of early reflections in the environment and meet the need of monitoring on each other due to the special position of the orchestra. For the console, SD11 from DiGiCo was selected for outside broadcast.

 

"By having this concert in the West Peak of Mount Hua, We hope to present a state in which music and nature are fully integrated. The audience will be able to embrace the music surrounded in the spectacle and appreciate the scene in music. " said Jiwen Cao, Brand Director of the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra.
