Tmall Double Eleven 2019

The Tmall Double Eleven 2019 is a gala night held by Alibaba before the Tmall Double 11 shopping festival, produced by Zhejiang TV's Program Center.

 

The party was broadcasted on nearly 30 platforms worldwide, covering more than 50 countries and regions. Chinese and foreign artists are invited to join the show, creating a "New National Memory" for the audience in the era of globalization.

 

The party was broadcasted live on November 10, 2019 at 19:30 on Zhejiang TV, Oriental TV, Youku and overseas TV stations worldwide.

 

Led by Jin Shaogang, the sound team, the sound team made great effort on the design of the sound system, making sure sound quality without affecting the stage design.

 

For speakers, L-Acoustics system was chosen. Usually, the subwoofers would be stacked deployed which could greatly ensure the energy output, but also make the sound richer. Due to the floor screen was used in the event resulting in limited space for subwoofers. Therefor the team chose to hang the subwoofers on the top of full-range speaker as well as the back of the main, making sure the full coverage of the bass. In order to achieve the best visual effect, the team used up to 130 meters cable, winded them to the back of the stage and hanged down to the ground. This seems easy but challenging actually.

 

For mixing system, two DiGiCo SD5 were deployed as PA consoles for real-time mirroring hot back-up. Another two SD5 were as monitor consoles, one for artists, the other one for live engineer. There were two upgraded SD7 Quantum were used as OB consoles. Considering foreign performers were invited to the gala, we had two DiGiCo SD10 deployed apart in PA and Monitor positions.

 

For this 5-hour live event, all staff members went through a long period of pre-preparation without complaiont and were fully committed to their work, and finally present the show successfully.
