On the evening of May 4, an online lecture based on immersive sound reinforcement was held at the L-ISA showroom of Rightway Audio Consultants Ltd.(RAC), Beijing, hosted by the Department of Performing Arts & Sound Design of Central Academy of Drama and organized by RAC.
The onlinelecture invited Jin Shaogang, well-known sound designer in China, Alvin Koh, Director of Application Project, APAC L-Acoustics, Li Jun, sound engineer and recorder, Xu Zhen, sound engineer and Du Si Liang, teacher of Central Academy of Drama Department of Performing Arts & Sound Design, to participate. In addition, Zhou Fengxin, Technical Director of RAC, Li Feng, Brand Manager and Quan Sihao, Senior System Engineer also participated, discussing immersive sound related topics with the students and providing instruction for them.
“The lecture is designed to provide a discussion of the industry's most cutting-edge immersive sound reinforcement, combined with rich experience of the industry's top technical service team, we instructing the students while help improving their artistic training as well as cultivating the right learning methods.” said teacher Du.
During the 4-hour lecture, the experts and teachers explained the working principle, advantages and characteristics of L-ISA system from theory to practical application cases for the students. Jin used the actual cases of The Voice of China and BMW Group Night to start the topic; Xu demonstrated the process of how to mix in L-ISA system using Binaural output audio. He suggested the students to download the free L-ISA Studio for immersive mixing after class time.
The lecture also connected to Alvin Koh, who is in Malaysia, and he provided instruction for the students from different perspectives. At the end of the lecture, Li Jun said, “Keeping a habit is important in this industry, and mistakes are inevitable, however, we can learn from those experience, and motivate us work better.”
The lecture online was held successfully, and was popular and well-comment by the students.
