Guangxi Provincial Art Museum

Located in Guilin City, Guangxi Province, the Guangxi Provincial Art Museum is the only theatre for Xiju (drama) performances during the war period that remains in China, and also the earliest comprehensive social art education institution in China that integrates Xiju, fine arts and music. The building was first constructed in February 1944 and renovated in February 1946, and is regarded as "the first great building in the history of Chinese theater".

 

At 19:30 on December 11, 2022, the 2022 Guilin Arts Festival, with the theme of "Landscape has an appointment, Guilin has a play", was officially opened in the newly renovated landmark building of Guilin's historical and cultural city, Guangxi Provincial Art Museum. That night, the Guangxi Provincial Art Museum was upgraded and remodeled for the first time. The hardware and software were fully upgraded after the renovation, and the sound reinforcement system of L-Acoustics was chosen.
