Wuhan Theatre

Wuhan Theatre was built in 1959, with 62 years of history, which is the first large theater built in Wuhan after the founding of PRC, being the major historical and cultural sites protected in Wuhan city.

 

Wuhan Theater has gone through four times repair and renovation, but there were all local adjustments on the whole, that could not meet the increasing need of development. In October 2020, Wuhan Theater launched the biggest renovation and upgrade with largest in scale, greatest in investment and longest in period since the completion of this masterpiece. After nearly a year, in September 2021, Wuhan Theatre welcomed us with its new look. The theater maintained the original design of structure and appearance, etc., with only protective repair.

 

Acoustics is the big picture for the renovation. From sound system to seat seating, they are all upgraded. The fold-line design wall would be helpful for sound diffusion, and deliver them more even to audience. And the wooden wall in the rare of the hall is also upgraded to MgO board which could be sound-absorbing as well as fireproof. There are rows of hole hidden under the seats, having the function of noise reduction.

 

L-Acoustics KARA IIi are taken as the central system, and left and right systems over the stage, with SB18i hanged behind each to extend low frequency. X12 speakers are used to handle front fill and stage monitor. X8 are deployed on stage lip and under balcony. There are SB28 stacked on both sides of the stage. For mixing system, DiGiCo SD5 console are chosen as the main, and the back is taken by DiGiCo S21 console.

 

Wuhan Theatre is very careful for the renovation, they have put all their heart into the project.
