The Shanghai Tianfan Yifu Theatre was built in 1925, and is the only theater in Shanghai that focuses on Peking opera performance, and has the longest history of traditional opera performance. It is the witness of countless famous artists, the ups and downs of Peking opera culture for generations, and the inheritor of the spirit of carrying forward the opera.
In March 2018, the Shanghai Tianfan Yifu Theatre announced the official launch of the renovation. On the premise of the maximum respect for the historical building style into the new era style, comprehensive performance and significantly improve the experience for audience and performers. The upgrade included the sound reinforcement system for the theatre and multi-functional hall.
