Zhejiang Radio and Television Group was established on November 8, 2001, directly under the Zhejiang Provincial Government. It has 10 TV channels (including Zhejiang Satellite TV, Qianjiang Channel, Economic Life Channel, Educational TV Channel, etc.), 8 broadcasts, and new media channels and platforms such as IPTV, Xinlan Network, China Xinlan News, China Xinlan TV and Xihuan Ting App.
Educational TV Channel is taking advantage of Calrec Type R’s power, flexibility and sound quality.
Educational TV is the largest regional TV station that covers the whole area of Zhejiang, and has been continuing to hold a post among all the channels for 12 years in prime time ratings.
The station now has 24-fader Type R as the main as well as 18-fader as the back-up console in its studio, both with DSP full processing capbility of 40 inputs and 48 outputs.
Type R consoles’ DSP cores both have 8 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, 4 AES I/O, 2 groups of HP output and 8 GPIO interfaces. Based on AoIP, Type R concoles share the interface box signals that is a combined interface with 8 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, 4 AES I/O, 2 groups of HP output, 8 GPIO and a AES interface with 16 I/O.
Zhejiang TV has highly appreciated Type R for its design, and its performance and functionality that far exceeded their expectations: “Everything you need in daily use is available on the screen and the custom group components in the interface.” Adapting double star connection, the entire 2110-30 AoIP network complies with the SMPTE 2022-7. The audio stream is defined and depatched via Web-based Calrec Connect, no need to install any software, and frees users from the various AoIP parameters.
“It took only one week for the renovation of the system. Now the Type R consoles are tasked with four live broadcasts per day and a number of recorded programs. With the gradual expansion of 4K programming on terrestrial channels in recent years, we are hoping to take advantages of IP-based broadcasting and get prepare for the all-IP time.”
